The future is now!

A new era of mining is dawning in Zimbabwe, thanks to a game-changing partnership between the
Young Miners Foundation (YMF) and Ngayin Investments Consultants. On August 2, 2025, in Mvurwi, 47 young, ambitious miners graduated from the "Fundamentals in Chrome Washing Management" program, ready to professionalize their role in the nation's vibrant chrome sector.

This wasn't your average classroom session! The curriculum was designed to bridge the gap between old-school traditions and modern, responsible mining practices. Participants got hands-on with everything from understanding chrome ore properties to mastering the detailed process flows and operating washing plant equipment. This initiative is a direct hit on the national goal of empowering youth and adding value to our economy.

"This training is more than just a course; it's a direct response to the national call for youth economic empowerment," declared YMF Chairman
Chitepo Talent . He didn't stop there, highlighting the crucial need for fair and equal access to mining rights.

"It's about ensuring our young people are not just participating, but leading with knowledge and responsibility," he added.
The event was supercharged by the presence of the Miners for Economic Development Mashonaland Central Chairperson, who served as the Guest of Honour.

Their presence was a major motivation boost for everyone! The Chairperson pledged unwavering support for young miners and even pushed for these vital training programs to expand to other minerals beyond just chrome. Talk about a national vision!

The absolute highlight? An epic on-site visit!

Participants got to see a live chrome washing operation in action, turning theory into real-world experience. One miner, buzzing with excitement, shared, "Seeing the process live made all the difference. We're ready to apply this knowledge!"

With their new Certificates of Attendance in hand, all 47 graduates are now officially ready for their journey into the formal mining sector.
YMF CEO Payne Farai Kupfuwa is paving the way for these young leaders, outlining key strategies to help them thrive:
* Formalization is the key!

YMF is actively assisting with registrations and licensing to make sure everything is legit.
* Strength in numbers!

They're promoting mining cooperatives so young miners can pool resources and tackle bigger projects.
* Safety first!

Critical emphasis is placed on Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards for a greener, safer future.
* Financial power!

YMF is connecting youth with financial literacy and tailored funding to turn their dreams into reality.
* Direct market access!

Efforts are underway to link miners directly to the market, ensuring fair pricing and cutting out the middleman.
The chrome sector is full of opportunities waiting for ambitious young Zimbabweansβfrom mining and extraction to environmental rehabilitation and tech innovation.

YMF is on a mission to empower youth, and with initiatives like this, they're actively building a vibrant, responsible, and youth-driven future for Zimbabwe's mining industry.

As the YMF Chairman brilliantly concluded, "Our youth are not just the future of mining; they are its present, building the nation with their own hands and minds."
