A Vision Rooted in Empowerment 
Friday Chamfya's vision for Aim-Higher Youth Cooperative is clear and impactful. "Aim-Higher Youth Cooperative exists to create a self-reliant generation of young people through entrepreneurship, leadership development, skills training, and climate action," says Chamfya. "Our vision is to become a leading youth-led cooperative championing youth-driven development across Zambia and beyond." 
The cooperative primarily targets youths aged 16–35 years, women, and small-scale farmers 
. It operates nationally across Zambia, with a special focus on underrepresented communities where resources, opportunities, and hope often feel out of reach.

Chamfya is candid about the crisis facing Zambian youth today. "The most significant challenge is unemployment, lack of access to capital, relevant skills, and platforms that allow youth to compete in modern economies," he explains. "This challenge is deeply tied to limited mentorship, lack of access to capital, and few safe spaces where youth voices can truly influence change."
Aim-Higher Youth Cooperative tackles these hurdles head-on by offering tailored programs that bridge the gap between potential and opportunity. Through hands-on workshops

, and business incubation models, the cooperative equips youth with tools to become job creators rather than job seekers.

Chamfya’s impact is both personal and profoundly communal. "Through Aim-Higher Youth Cooperative, we have trained youths in leadership, skills development, entrepreneurship, and climate change action, as well as youth empowerment advocacy. Today, these youths lead community projects and represent fellow youths in Zambia at local, national, and regional platforms, contributing to policy interventions, decision-making, and solutions provision." 
The cooperative has reached over 5,500 young people and women through trainings, mentorship, and cooperative economic initiatives, along with climate change action projects, transforming not only individuals but entire households and communities in Lusaka, Northwestern Province, and Copperbelt Province of Zambia since its establishment on February 1, 2022. 
Friday's personal achievements also speak volumes about the cooperative's effectiveness:

What sets Aim-Higher Youth Cooperative apart is its youth-led governance model, performance-based, proactive, collaborative approach, and integration of cross-sectoral development pillars: Entrepreneurship, Leadership Development, Skills Training, Climate Change, Education, Health, Environment, and Development. This unique blend ensures the cooperative’s work remains holistic, inclusive, and sustainable. 
"Our ability to partner with local, regional, and international institutions, and align our programs with the National 8th Development Plan (8NDP), National Youth Policy (Zambia), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and African Union Agenda 2063 global frameworks allows us to think globally but act locally, aiming high for success and making a positive impact in our communities," Chamfya emphasizes. 
Moreover, Aim-Higher Youth Cooperative doesn't just focus on development theory; it brings solutions to life. One innovative project they are keen to launch is a value-chain initiative that not only empowers youth in entrepreneurship, business development, and agribusiness but also establishes reliable markets for smallholder farmers, especially young women. 
Building a Self-Reliant Zambia and Africa
Looking to the future, Chamfya envisions scaling Aim-Higher Youth Cooperative's model across Zambia and Africa, particularly through leadership development, entrepreneurship, digital inclusion, policy influence, and climate-smart innovations. "Our growth areas include expanding into smart agriculture
